Privacy Policy

Manna is a privacy-first daily prayer app. Our principle is “no passive presence” — we do not track your activity, and the app works fully without an account.

1. Data controller

The data controller is Melrakki, a French simplified joint-stock company (SAS) with a share capital of €100, registered with the Paris Trade and Companies Register under number 932 971 591, with its registered office at 24 rue Saint-Sauveur, 75002 Paris, France. 2. What we process, and why

a. Use without an account (default)

Manna runs locally. Your data — prayer history, journal entries, preferences (language, reminder time, how you address God, prayer focuses) — is stored on your device and is not sent to our servers.

b. Optional account

If you create an account (for the “Loved ones” feature and sync), we process: your email address (authentication), your first name (as you choose it, visible to your loved ones), and the sync of your app state (prayer dates, notes, preferences) so you can recover it on another device.

c. Loved ones

When you link a loved one, we process: the link between your accounts, prayer gestures (“I carry you”), with an optional short message and an anonymity option, invitations (temporary token), and your private notes of intentions for a loved one (visible only to you). A loved one only sees your first name and the fact that you carried them (plus your optional message). They never see your prayers, notes, or activity.

d. Notifications

If you enable them with an account, we store a push token (via Expo) to let you know a loved one carried you. Daily reminders are local to the device.

e. Companionship (payments)

Payments and subscriptions are handled by the Apple App Store and Google Play (and our subscription-management provider). We neither receive nor store your payment card details.

f. The the-manna.app website

This website sets no cookies. That is why you won’t see a consent banner: there is nothing to consent to. To know how many people visit and how fast it loads, it uses Vercel Analytics and Vercel Speed Insights, two cookie-free measurements: visits and loading times are counted in an aggregated, anonymous way, with no identifier and no tracking from one visit to the next.

3. Legal bases (GDPR)

Performance of the service you request (account, loved ones, sync) and your consent (notifications). You may withdraw consent at any time.

4. Recipients and processors

• Supabase — database and authentication (hosting of account data), on infrastructure located in the European Union (Ireland region, eu-west-1).
• Expo — push notification delivery.
• Apple, Google and our subscription provider — for payments.

We do not sell your data and use no advertising or third-party ad tracking.

5. Retention

• Local data: until you erase it (device reset).
• Account data: until you delete your account.

6. Your rights

You have rights of access, rectification, erasure, portability, restriction and objection. You can delete your account and all your data directly in the app (Profile → Delete my account), or write to contact@the-manna.app. You may also lodge a complaint with your data protection authority (in France, the CNIL).

7. Children

Manna is not intended for people under 15.

8. Security

Data is encrypted in transit; access to account data is restricted by row-level security (RLS). No system is completely secure.

9. Changes

Any change will be posted on this page, with the date updated.
