Who was Anne Bradstreet?
An English Puritan who sailed young to New England, a mother of eight in colonial hardship, she became the first published poet of the New World. Her verse and meditations, written between chores and bereavements, carry a faith that doubts, struggles, and yields, never glossing over the trial.
