Who was Conchita Cabrera de Armida?
A Mexican, wife of Francisco de Armida and mother of nine, widowed at thirty-eight. Between the household accounts and her griefs (her husband, several of her children), she kept a spiritual diary of tens of thousands of pages over forty-three years, and inspired a family of communities, the Works of the Cross. Beatified in 2019, the first Mexican laywoman to be so.

I offer you, O my most beloved Jesus, through the most pure Heart of Mary, all my acts without exception, for your greater glory, for the sanctification of priests, the salvation and greater perfection of souls.
I went to the foot of the great crucifix and, pouring my tears on his feet, I offered him the sacrifice of my son, bowing and asking him to fulfil his divine will in me.
I felt the divine scalpel in my soul, cutting everything that kept me attached to earth.
