Who was Dominique Savio?
The son of a Piedmontese blacksmith, he walked miles to school each day, then at twelve entered the Turin oratory, where John Bosco noticed him because he broke up fights instead of reporting them. With a few friends he founded a small company to look after newcomers and troublemakers. Taken ill and sent home, he died at fourteen in March 1857.
