Who was Edel Quinn?
A frail young Irishwoman, tubercular, she first longed for the contemplative life but was sent as a lay envoy of the Legion of Mary to East Africa. For seven years, in a battered car, she crossed Kenya, Uganda and Tanzania, founding groups of prayer and service everywhere. She died at thirty-seven in Nairobi, worn out but joyful.
