John Bunyan
1628-1688 17th century
The way of faith as a pilgrimage through trial, grace greater than sin.
Who was John Bunyan?
An English tinker, a Baptist preacher jailed twelve years for preaching outside the established Church. It was in prison that he wrote “The Pilgrim's Progress” and the account of his own conversion.
In their own words
He that is down needs fear no fall, he that is low no pride.
So he passed over, and all the trumpets sounded for him on the other side.
My righteousness was Jesus Christ himself, the same yesterday, and today, and forever.
