Who was Marie-Dominique Mazzarello? A Piedmontese peasant, first a vineyard worker then a seamstress, she co-founded the Daughters of Mary Help of Christians with John Bosco to educate the poor girls of Mornese. She died at forty-four, leaving a growing network of houses.
