Who was Rose de Lima?
Isabel Flores de Oliva, known as Rose, lived her whole life in Lima in her parents' home, working at embroidery and gardening to help her impoverished family. A Dominican tertiary, she turned a garden hut into her hermitage and her room into a refuge for the city's sick poor. The first canonized saint of the Americas, she left a few writings on the grace that follows trial.
