Who was Jean Chrysostome?
A priest of Antioch whose preaching burned so brightly he was nicknamed 'Golden Mouth,' he became archbishop of Constantinople. He preached without compromise the sharing of goods with the poor and denounced the luxury of the court, which earned him two exiles. He died exhausted on the roads of deportation, giving thanks to his last breath.
