Who was Lucie de Syracuse?
A young Christian of Syracuse, in Sicily, under Diocletian's persecution. Tradition tells that she wished to consecrate her virginity to God and give her goods to the poor; denounced, she was put to death around 304. Her name, which evokes light, led those seeking clear sight to invoke her.
