Who was Marguerite d'Youville?
Widowed at twenty-nine, a mother tried by the death of several of her children and by her husband's debts, she gathered the most destitute of Montreal. With a few companions she restored the General Hospital and founded the Sisters of Charity, nicknamed the Grey Nuns. Through fire, ruin and scorn, her trust in Providence never wavered.
