Who was Nano Nagle?
Born into a wealthy Irish Catholic family at a time when the faith was forbidden, she returned from Paris to devote herself to the poor children of Cork. She opened hidden schools and walked the lanes at night, lantern in hand, visiting the sick. Hence her name, the 'Lady of the Lantern.' She founded the Presentation Sisters, whose work reached every continent.
