Padre Pio
1887-1968 20th century Feast day: September 23
Making prayer a daily weapon, handing anxiety over to God.
Who was Padre Pio?
A Capuchin of southern Italy, at San Giovanni Rotondo, marked by long hours in the confessional and by tested health. Carried by a life of intense prayer, he founded a great hospital, the 'Home for the Relief of Suffering.' A sought-after confessor, he taught his spiritual children not to be anxious.
In their own words
Pray, hope and do not worry.
Prayer is the best weapon we have; it is the key that opens the heart of God.
