Who was Rosa Parks?
A seamstress in Montgomery, Alabama, and an active member of her African Methodist church, she refused one December evening in 1955 to give up her seat on a bus. The boycott that followed lasted more than a year and changed her country. She later said that what held her up was not courage but prayer.
