Scholastique

v. 480-v. 543 6th century Feast day: February 10

Prayer that obtains more by love than by force, the boldness of trust.

Who was Scholastique?

Twin sister of Benedict of Nursia, she led a nun's life near him at Monte Cassino. Once a year brother and sister would meet to speak of God. Gregory the Great preserved the memory of their last meeting, when Scholastica's prayer kept Benedict through a whole night.

In their own words

I asked my brother, and he would not listen to me; so I asked my Lord, and he heard me.
