Who was Wang Zhiming?
A Miao schoolteacher and pastor from Yunnan, he served the mountain churches and trained catechists among his people. Under the Cultural Revolution, he refused to take part in the public sessions of humiliation and denunciation. Arrested and executed in 1973, he is one of the ten twentieth-century martyrs whose statue stands watch above the west door of Westminster Abbey.
