Who was Charles Péguy?
A French poet and essayist, a socialist, a Dreyfusard, who returned to the faith of his childhood without ever falling into line. Founder of the 'Cahiers de la Quinzaine,' he sang hope as the most fragile and most tenacious of the virtues. A father, he fell at the front in September 1914.
