Who was Gemma Galgani?
An orphan from Lucca, turned away from Carmel because of her health, she lived as a laywoman taken in by a friendly family. A mystic marked by the Passion, she died of tuberculosis at twenty-five, leaving an autobiography, a diary and letters.
