Who was Jean Donovan?
A young Irish-American accountant from Connecticut, she went as a lay volunteer to El Salvador to care for poor children in the middle of the civil war. She refused to flee and was murdered in December 1980, along with three religious sisters, by the national guard.

Several times I have decided to leave. I almost could, except for the children, the poor bruised victims of this insanity. Who would care for them?
