Who was Henri Nouwen?

Dutch Catholic priest, theologian and professor at Notre Dame, Yale, Harvard. At 54, he leaves prestigious Harvard Divinity School to join the L’Arche community in Canada, where he accompanies people with severe disabilities until his death ten years later. Prolific writer on spiritual life (The Return of the Prodigal Son, Life of the Beloved). One of the great spiritual companions of the 20th century.
