Who was William Law?
An English priest who lost his university post for refusing an oath of allegiance, he withdrew to his native village to lead a life of prayer, study, and charity. His Serious Call deeply marked the Wesley brothers and the whole English revival: he presses each person to make of ordinary life a continual worship.
